Biography

Gaute Søderholm, also known as Norwegian Uke, is best known for his delicate instrumental playing style. The ukulelist has performed on stages in Norway, Sweden, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Japan, Finland, Macedonia and China. In 2022 he reached the finale of the Hiutale International Ukulele Contest (Finland). As well as arranging and performing his own pieces, Gaute enjoys collaborating with musicians from different genres in all sorts of ensembles. Søderholm also completed the world's first bachelor's degree in Norwegian Folk Music with the 'ukulele as the main instrument in 2024 (University of South-Eastern Norway). His debut album "Slåtter på ukulele" released May 31st, 2025.
